Thank you for visiting my "MG Walk" personal fundraising page!
I am proud to say that this will be the 5th year that I will be walking in the MG Walk and hope you will join me!
Many of you know that I have been struggling with Myasthenia Gravis for 8 years. Over the years I have learned to deal with the symptoms of the disease, meds, treatments, and environment. After many years of trial and error I can finally say that most days I feel stable. I have not had IV treatment since December 2015! I have learned what environmental factors affect my body and how to deal with it. I may not be an expert yet, but I am glad that I am better most days than not.
Although I am doing well overall, there are still days that I struggle with extreme fatigue, side effects of steroid and immune suppressant medications and long term effects of the meds. I am asking all my friends and family to take my future and others that suffer with MG into account by joining my team and walking with me, and/or making a donation to help get closer to a cure. Each year I truly believe that they are getting closer and closer.
I am excited to be supporting the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America (MGFA) through the MG Walk. The MGFA is the only national volunteer health agency in the United States dedicated solely to the fight against myasthenia gravis.
Currently Myasthenia Gravis is only treatable. The MGFA is committed to finding a cure for myasthenia gravis and closely related disorders, improving treatment options, and providing information and support to people with myasthenia gravis through research, education, community programs, and advocacy.
Please register to walk with me OR make a pledge to help me reach my goal!
