Thank you for visiting my "MG Walk" personal fundraising page!
I am excited to be supporting the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America (MGFA) through the MG Walk. The MGFA is the only national volunteer health agency in the United States dedicated solely to the fight against myasthenia gravis.
MGFA is committed to finding a cure for myasthenia gravis and closely related disorders, improving treatment options, and providing information and support to people with myasthenia gravis through research, education, community programs, and advocacy.
As you may already know my daughter, Taylor, was diagnosed with MG in September of 2016. It took almost 8 months of us going to various doctors before we got a diagnosis. Since then Taylor has been under treatment and had her Thymus removed and is doing quite well. While she is not in full remission (which is what we hope for) she is able to participate in most activities that she loves again. She has had a great support system: family, friends, neighbors, her school, coaches and teammates. Through all of this we have learned how truly strong and resilient Taylor is. While she is currently doing well, we hope that one day they will find a cure.
