Come and take a "step" with me...support me and the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America (MGFA) through the MG Walk. MGFA is committed to finding a cure for myasthenia gravis and closely related disorders, improving treatment options, and providing information and support to people with myasthenia gravis through research, education, community programs, and advocacy.
I'm one of the fortunate ones...18 years ago I was diagnosed very quickly because I had access to amazing neurologists. Not everyone is so lucky and I hear many stories of patients that go years without treatment because they are never diagnosed. It's a tough illness. Patients can look completely normal but ask them to walk, and they may not even be able to lift a leg or speak and ask for help. That was me. My story has its share of hard and helpless times, but my family kept me going when I literally could not. Can we together help other families understand and help their loved ones to fight this illness?
Last year, my goal was $250 and thanks to all of you, I surpassed it and raised more than $500! This year my goal is $750--will you help me beat it again?
Help MGFA to spread the word, and register to walk with me on November 19th, OR make a pledge to help me reach my goal, one step at a time, one patient at a time!
Thank you so much for visiting.
