The 2017 Arizona MG Walk is this Sunday December 3rd!  And we're just half-way to our goal of raising $1000 as a team.  My wife, Sharon, and I are walking again this year in honor of my brother, Jon, who has been living with Myasthenia gravis (pronounced My-as-theen-ee-uh grav-us) for more than 10 years.  The name of this disease comes from the Greek and Latin words meaning "grave muscular weakness." The most common form of MG is a chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disorder that is characterized by fluctuating weakness of the voluntary muscle groups.  It can have profound effects on a person's mobility and even eyesight.

It's estimated that about 20 in 100,000 Americans have MG--and probably others who are not yet diagnosed.  Myasthenia gravis occurs in all races, both genders, and at any age.  MG is not thought to be directly inherited nor is it contagious.  But it is very difficult to treat and, so far, there is no "cure" for MG.

So Sharon and I are walking to raise funds for the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America (MGFA) and it's mission to support research and education in the fight against myasthenia gravis.  Last year, with pledges from many relatives and friends, Sharon and I--as a two-person team--raised more than $1000 dollars and made the top five among all teams in the Arizona MG Walk!  Thanks to YOU, we hope to raise at least that much in donations this year--and hopefully more!

Please register to walk with our team ("Jon's Team") OR make a pledge to help reach our goal!  Thank you so much!
