Thank you for visiting my "MG Walk" personal fundraising page!
In 2009, my world was suddenly flipped upside down when I was diagnosed with this debilitating disease. I had lost the use of most of my basic functions (walking, talking, swallowing, use of my arms, etc) and it was a loooong, arduous road to recovery, one which consisted of many medications, plasma infusions, therapy and even a massive surgery. I am blessed to have received the gift of healing and have been in full remission for over two years. However, there are many others out there who have not been so fortunate. I'm walking in honor of their journeys, to bring awareness to this disease, and to celebrate the miracle I have been given.
This year, I am also incredibly humbled and honored to have been chosen as the Tampa Bay MG Walk Hero. I am hopeful that my involvement in this will help to bring more awareness to this disease, as well as give those living with it the hope to celebrate the wins in their every day lives.
